The purpose of the 150th Anniversary Commemorative Project Committee is to draw up specific proposals for implementing project plans and to promote the project. The committee members are the president of Keio University, its directors and councillors, and others invited by the president.
Keio will build a system for promoting this project with continuous input from a wide range of participants. To facilitate the smooth progress of the project, we have set up an organizing group that represents the project committee in coordinating and supervising the sectional committees, as well as helping to summarize the activities of the project committee. In addition to sectional committees for project promotion, ceremonies and events, and promotion of donations, special committees dedicated to the activities of education, research, medical care and social contribution will be established as necessary.
The 150th Anniversary Commemorative Project Office will plan and support projects based on a flexible system of operation and execution, with a view to attaining the goals of the project.
The 150th Anniversary Commemorative Project activities are fully supported by a student staff of around 180. Their many activities include planning and running commemorative events, entertaining guests who visit the university for commemorative events, and developing and selling commemorative goods. We plan to further expand opportunities for activities developed by student staff in future, based on their positive proposals to “be involved in uniquely student-oriented activities for the 150th anniversary celebrations” and to “work with many other students to make the celebrations bigger and better.”

The 150th anniversary commemorative events will lead up to the 150th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony on November 8th, 2008, but will also continue until 2010. As well as academic events, these will also include cultural events such as social contributions and community outreach. We welcome your participation.
