Keio University held an international symposium on the International Criminal Court (ICC) on November 4th, 2006.
This was the commemorative event with two ICC judges participating for the first time in Japan. In addition, experts of criminal law from Humboldt University, Berlin and Cologne University as well as Congress members from Japan joined as panelists of the symposium.
As one of the pioneers in the field of research on International Criminal Law, Keio University provides two advanced courses which focus on crime against humanity and genocide at Keio Law School, established in 2004. It also carries out cutting-edge research and encourages excellence in research and education.
There was much lively debate between participants at the workshops and panel discussions, where there was also lively exchange of opinions.
