APRU is a consortium of 37 leading research universities from 16 economies in the Pacific Rim. The presidents of APRU member universities meet yearly at the Annual Presidents Meeting, and this year's theme is "Tradition and Innovation in Higher Education."

The 12th Annual Presidents Meeting of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) will be hosted by Keio University from June 26 to 28, 2008, the first time for the meeting to be held in Japan. It will also be held as one of Keio University's 150th anniversary commemorative events.
